Hackathon sequence of events
- Registration
- Workshop 1: clarifications regarding problem statements
- First round- idea presentation & evaluation
- Boot camp: mentor interaction
- Shortlist of finalists
- Workshop 2: prototype development and grand finale
Before beginning the registration form, choose problem statements (a maximum of three) and prepare a brief description of how to approach each problem statement to fill in the form.
Registration
- Fill out the Google form to register for the event.
- Access the Google form by clicking “Register Now” on the hackathon’s official website.
- A team leader or contact person can fill out the form.
- Choose the problem statements and provide a brief description of how you are about to approach them.
- Each team can select a maximum of three problem statements. But the evaluation team will select only one for the competition after the first round.
Workshop 1: clarifications regarding problem statements
- This workshop is conducted online.
- Expert faculty mentors from GST and GIMSR will provide clarifications to questions from team members through online interaction.
First round- idea presentation & evaluation
- The first round is an online event.
- Each team has to submit their understanding of the problem statement(s) selected during registration and additional information in a presentation format. The template for the presentation is provided during registration.
- The teams can select a maximum of three problem statements. But separate presentations are to be uploaded for each problem statement.
- A panel of experts will evaluate the presentations submitted by each team.
- The evaluation team will select only one problem statement if more than one is submitted.
- Teams chosen will progress to the boot camp stage for further participation.
Boot camp: mentor interaction
- This event will take place online.
- The aim of this event is to assist participants in discussing their design ideas with mentors, assessing their feasibility, and also receiving feedback to enhance the design.
Shortlist of finalists
- This is also an online event.
- The teams have to submit the methodology of the design and the final Bill of Materials (BoM) to the evaluation team.
- The teams selected by the evaluation team progress to the final hackathon event.
Bill of Materials– A bill of materials (BOM) is a comprehensive list of all the components, parts, quantity, and cost required to design the product.
Workshop 2: prototype development and grand finale
- This is the grand finale event and will take place at the GITAM (Deemed to be University) Visakhapatnam campus.
